The air mattress is a mattress for patients to prevent bedsores that works with an air vacuum system and includes air exchange approximately every 15 minutes.  This air exchange takes place through two branches connected to its motor to work on distributing pressure evenly across the body. The benefit is obtained from the exchange by reducing pressure and not forming any blood pool under the skin that causes bedsores. The importance of the mattress is that some elderly people become so weak or sick that they cannot move their bodies adequately. When this happens, the skin that touches the bed or chair can be affected by the constant pressure, and within days, the irritated areas can develop into sores.
